Got Questions ?
Why focus on cows when other animals need protection ?
Cows are uniquely significant in human culture and agriculture. Protecting them is an entry point to rethinking our entire relationship with nature. Plus, one Gir cow’s milk feeds a family for generations—their impact is profound.
How is this different from organic dairy?
Organic dairy still separates calves, over-milks cows, and sends bulls to slaughter. We don’t. Our cows are protected for life, hand-milked gently, and theiar calves stay with them. It’s a fundamentally different relationship.
What happens to cows when they stop producing milk?
They live with us forever. Many of our oldest cows are retired milk producers who spend their days grazing, resting, and being loved by the community. They’re our family now.
What if I'm vegan or plant-based?
We support all dietary choices. Our focus is on an ethical relationship with nature, not on promoting dairy. Many volunteers are plant-based and participate in every
aspect of the program.
