Hare Krishna Melbourne

Sharing connection, care and spiritual community beyond the temple walls.

Through outreach programs, public events, music, food sharing and community engagement,
we aim to bring warmth, support and spiritual connection into the wider community.

Our Programs

Community in action.

Outreach is about creating moments of connection, kindness and care in the broader community. From food distribution and public kirtan to university programs and community support, outreach helps share the values of compassion, mindfulness and generosity in practical ways.

Sankirtan on the Streets – Chanting for Peace

The congregational chanting of the holy names – Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare – fills public spaces with sacred sound. Derived from the Sanskrit word san-kirtana (“complete chanting”), this practice is described in Vedic scriptures as the most powerful spiritual practice for the current age. It is said that even a passerby who hears the holy name receives an eternal benefit. Groups gather regularly at Federation Square, Melbourne Central, and during festivals.
