Our Story

Journey Of Wyndham Hare Krishna

On August 12, 2018, at the Wayaperrri Community Centre in Werribee, the launch of the Wyndham Sunday Feast marked a new chapter for the Hare Krishna community in Melbourne’s western suburbs. This initiative, blessed by His Grace Aniruddha Prabhu, attracted around 100 guests eager to delve into Vedic knowledge.

Inception

The Wyndham Hare Krishna community emerged as a natural extension of the Melbourne Mahaprabhu Temple in Albert Park to accommodate growing devotees in western suburbs.

Growth & Programs

Since inception at Featherbrook Community Centre, monthly Sunday Feasts became magnets for diverse audiences. Over 300 programs and festivals have nourished over 25,000 people with vibrant cultural programs, spiritual lectures, and prasadam.

Compassion In Action

During the pandemic, we pivoted to accommodate needs through a food relief program, preparing hot prasadam in commercial kitchens and delivering to those in need with unwavering commitment.

Expansion

From celebrating festivals at Featherbrook to hosting the inaugural Wyndham Janmashtami at Werribee Racecourse in 2023 with 8,000 attendees, our momentum continues building.
